 | The Third World War broke out! |
|  It is not a metaphor. Today AIDS declared a war against humanity. This war takes off thousands lives annually in Ukraine. That's why - "Everybody in the war against AIDS!", - leading Ukrainian designers appeal! On October, 20 they demonstrated at the catwalk of Ukrainian Fashion Week (UFW) the third social collection named AIDS Army Fashion in the context of the Fashion AID project dedicated to the fight against AIDS. 32 designers took part in the joint-project of Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation and UFW and created military-style items. Politicians, celebrities, sport stars and Olympic champions, TV presenters were mobilized for this social action by ANTIAIDS Foundation.  | During Queen + Paul Rodgers concert 150 000 USD were donated for orphanage “Zeleniy Gay” |
| ANTIAIDS Foundation announced the sum of charitable donations raised during the concert "Life must go on!" that took place on September, 12 2008 at Kharkov's Freedom Square. As of September, 24 the sum was close to 150 000 USD. However VIP guests continue to donate money. Raised money will be directed for the needs of the orphanage "Zeleniy Gay" - the home for 87. 17 of them are born to HIV-positive mothers or diagnosed with HIV. The sum raised was announced by the organizers of the concert during the press-conference which took place today at the orphanage "Zeleniy Gay". Igor Titarenko, the Head of the orphanage, Igor Shurma, the Head of the health department of Kharkov City Administration, Svetlana Babitskaya, the Head of culture department of Kharkov City Administration, Olga Rudneva, Director of Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation participated in the press-conference. | Ushering in the start of their massive European tour Queen + Paul Rodgers made a mighty impact on September,12 2008 with a special one-off concert to support Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation' informative campaign in Ukraine. Playing an awareness-raising outdoor concert in Kharkov's Freedom Square, the second largest Square in Europe, at the event organized by the Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation and supported by Queens' own HIV/AIDS charity, The Mercury Phoenix Trust, the show by Queen + Paul Rodgers attracted more than 350,000 to see the overture concert for its 33-city tour of Europe and immediately entered the record books as the biggest charity event devoted to the fight against AIDS in Ukraine. | Queen + Paul Rodgers Support the Call With ANITAIDS Concert In Kharkov Freedom Square.
Queen + Paul Rodgers will head a massive outdoor concert in one of Europe’s biggest public squares ahead of the start of their forthcoming European tour to support Ukraine’s Anti-Aids campaign.
Coming just a week after the birthday of their lost lead singer - Freddy Mercury, who died of AIDS in 1991 - the concert aims to reinforce the message of the Ukrainian ANTIAIDS Foundation that the need to protect ourselves and our families remains as urgent as ever.
The concert will be broadcast live on Ukraine's Noviy Channel which will reach into homes right across the country. It will be a prelude to the launch the following day on the national channel of a new five year ANTIADS campaign , "On the Edge" being fronted by the Elena Franchuk Foundation which aims to tackle head-on the growing threat of HIV AIDS infection in the country.
Promoting the message “Don’t let AIDS to ruin your life! », Queen will perform a free concert in Kharkov’s historic Freedom Square on September 12 . The concert is expected to attract more than 100,000 to Europe’s second-largest city-centre square.
Supported by Queen’s own HIV AIDS charity, The Mercury Phoenix Trust, the free concert is being organized by the Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation and is being devoted to the fight against AIDS in the Ukraine. |

 | The seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan took part in the opening of the central HIV/AIDS clinic in Ukraine |
| On May, 16 2008 HIV/AIDS clinic of the infectious Institute named after Gromashevskiy was launched after the reconstruction. It was made for the funds raised during charitable auction Love Fashion AID. This auction took place in autumn, 2007. In October Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation invited at the catwalk HIV-positive people, Ukrainian celebrities, actors and sportsmen and presented during Ukrainian Fashion Week wedding collection created by 38 best Ukrainian designers. In November this collection raised 2,7 millions UAH (535.000 USD) during charitable auction. The day before International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day (May,18) ANTIAIDS Foundation gathered participants of the auction, celebrities and designers that took part in the project to demonstrate results of the joint efforts. The seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations Kofi Annan was a special guest of the event. |

 | Miss World discusses HIV/AIDS problem with Ukrainian students |
| On April, 23 2008 students of Institute of International Relationships named after T. Shevchenko (IIR) met with Zi Lin Zhang, Miss World 2007, Julia Morley, “Miss World” Organization Chairman and Chief Executive, and Elena Franchuk, Founder of the ANTIAIDS Foundation. The topic of the meeting was “Celebrity vs Society: popularity and social duty”. Participants of the meeting discussed several subjects: why celebrities are engaged in charity, what winners of the beauty contests are able to do to overcome HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine, and what students are able to do for this. This meeting is a part of the 5 year social project announced by Miss World Committee devoted to the fight against AIDS and diminishing stigma of HIV-positive people. |

 | “The improvement of HIV-positive children’ lives” is becoming real |
| To support 1 500 children from problematic and disadvantaged families. To find families for the 96 orphans. To work with 3 000 teachers and preschool institutions’ nurses in order to reduce stigma. To help families where 1 000 HIV-positive children live to prepare children for status’ disclosure. Above mentioned are expected outcomes of 5 year project of Elton John AIDS Foundation and Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation – “Improving quality of life of HIV-positive children and their families”. This project was represented to main stakeholders and media in Kiev on February, 20, 2008. In the coming five years project will cover 11 regions of Ukraine. It will be coordinated by All-Ukrainian Network of people living with HIV in a partnership with Romanian Angel Appeal. Donors of this project are Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation, Elton John AIDS Foundation and British charitable foundation The Big Lottery Fund. |

| People supported by our Foundation often repeat: “We are less depressed by disease then by dependence on others help”. In January 2008 Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation in a partnership with Ukrsotsbank has finished pilot project. Due to this project HIV-positive children and their foster families will be more independent from charities. For the first time in Ukraine bank technologies are used to help HIV-positive people. For each of 15 adopted children - participants of the project – ANTIAIDS Foundation opened a 5 000 USD deposit with increased interest rate and special terms of payment provided by Ukrsotsbank. Monthly foster parents will draw interest, when child will achieve 18 years – the whole deposited sum could be used to their discretion, for example, as education fee or mortgage credit. |

 | "I'm a student and I'm not scared of AIDS!" |
| To be prevented is to be protected. Elena Franchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation and student parliaments of Kiev Universities two years in a row strive for Kiev students’ protection. If last year only three Universities took part in the student project, in 2007 year already eleven Universities conducted HIV testing, put up posters with the social advertising, disseminated informative flayers, pocket calendars, bangles, stickers for cell phones and even condoms in the “antiaids design” wrapping. Students of Institute of International Relationships named after T. Shevchenko (IIR) were the most enthusiastic – they invited for the meeting not only experts, but presenters of the M1 Channel, and one more – they got from the ANTIAIDS Foundation a customized packages for condoms. Altogether there were more than 16 thousands participants of the action devoted to the World AIDS Day. |
