All funds raised will be transferred to the support projects of people living with HIV/AIDS to those who are in need.
You can also donate directly to the account of an orphanage or buy necessary food, clothes or toys for children. For your convenience we have created “a map of needs” of the orphanages, which are under the foundation support and where children with HIV/AIDS live. We also advise to read some information for “beginner benefactors”.
So, what to present to orphanages?
It is natural to have desire to change kids’ life for better: to bring them cute plush teddies and rabbits, chocolate, bright beautiful clothes, fruits and juices…. And of course, a lot - to be enough for all of them! But, it is more likely that toys, you dreamt of from your childhood, would not be taken, pineapples would be rejected and you would be asked not to bring chocolate anymore. After that, we do not think you will still have desire to support the orphanage again soon or even ever.
To avoid such situations we advise you to read few simple recommendations.
The most essential. Orphanages often need the basic things, ones we can not imagine our daily life without. The orphanages, where children of 0-4 years old live, always need diapers. You will not mistaken if you bring fruit, especially in winter time (it is linked with the season’ fruit cost rise; for the budget means orphanages can allow only apples in winter). But try to avoid exotic fruit, which cause allergic reaction. It is better to bring bananas, pears, apples and kiwi. You can also bring candies (except chocolate) and biscuits. Some of the orphanages will appreciate milk formulas (check with the orphanage which one is better) and care for quality certificate for the products. Please, pay attention to the expiry date.
Medicines. Some of the orphanages reject medicines and vitamins, explaining that the state provides all the necessary medicines and considers peculiarity of each institution.
Toys. It is better to present developing games and big toys, which can be cleansed (sport gyms for kids, floor-mats, toy tents and houses, etc.). Not recommended are plush toys, as according to hygiene and sanitary conditions, toys should be sterilized. Please, pay your attention that toys should not be heavy, with sharp corners and consist of small parts. It is impossible to keep an eye on every kid in conditions of orphanage, as for the group of 10-12 kids there is only one nurse.
Clothes. If you want to donate clothes to orphanage, ask the age of children. Buying new clothes, take into account that it will be washed in industrial washing machines with other clothes. Because of that it is better to bring kids’ clothes, which not required delicate and hand wash.
Improving health. Almost every orphanage is looking for sponsors to cover the costs of children rehabilitation in sanatorium. Pay attention to the fact, that paying for child’s sanatorium ticket, you have to pay for a ticket for accompanying nurse from an orphanage.
Control and account. We strongly recommend keeping receipts and drawing up acceptance reports of your donation. It shortens possibility of no-purpose use of your donation.
